I Want Six Pack Abs - Here's How I Got Them

That's what many folks say, especially as we get towards the summer and the beach holiday season comes around. After all, there's nothing quite like strolling down the beach showing off a set of ripped head-turning abs!

Trouble is, the holiday season seems to come around so fast that before we know it we've only got a short time left and really want six pack abs. After all, didn't you promise yourself last year that by this year your abs would be so ripped that you'd be stopping traffic?

I know I used to say that. So what happened? I got side-tracked of course, like we all do...life just kept on getting in my way. Oh yeah, I wanted six pack abs alright, but hey, there was always tomorrow...I could start my six pack training then, right?

WRONG?

Procrastination is the biggest obstacle we face when trying to get six pack abs.

So the first thing I had to do was make a commitment to give 100% effort to wanting and training for my six pack. You need to visualise it in your mind, so that it's a reality to you...how does it feel. I know this may sound a bit esoteric and "out there", but it really works, and is the first step if you want six pack abs.

Diet is essential if you want rock hard abs that turn heads. You could have the strongest and hardest abs in the world, but if they're covered in a layer of ugly fat, no one's going to see them. Conversely, people who have very low body fat but don't work out still have quite obvious abdominal muscles - they may not be huge, but they are definitely noticeable. Therefore you should make it a priority to reduce your body fat if you want six pack abs. Cutting down on alcohol and high fat foods will help you to reduce you calorie intake, and eating small regular protein rich meals will maintain your metabolism at a higher level and burn the fat off your belly faster, showing off your six pack abs underneath.

Some people say "the abs are made in the kitchen". This is only partly true, because although it is important to reduce your belly fat to get six pack abs, if you don't work your abdominals through exercises, then you're not going to get eye-popping abs, you'll just have a flat stomach.

If you want the ultimate six pack abs you'll need to integrate 3 things into your exercise workouts - Stretch, Function, Contract. These 3 things will work your abdominals in all the possible ways, and provide the ultimate eye popping abs you could ever want.

The Stretch exercise would be something like hanging leg raises, the Function exercise could be the woodchopper, and the Contraction exercise something like the cable crunch.
